Under the employees benefits I see Some systems use employee transfers to "solve" problems without actually solving them, just by shuffling people around and hoping the new location will be a better fit. I used to work in an organization that was notorious for this - their policy (a government agency) made it difficult to fire bad workers, so they transferred them (in many cases hoping that the person would quit rather than accept the transfer, or at least get word that they weren't search). The advantage for those who do not get along with the transferred co-worker is clear, and perhaps the transferred person can start over in a more harmonious environment which directly give negative impact to the employee benefits.
